Zico- A natural replenisher

19 October 2010, Comments: 7

I came across the Zico coconut water product a few weeks ago at Whole Foods. Something about it appealed to me so I gave it a shot. Plus, it brought back memories of being in India and having a fresh coconut chopped open and handed to me to sip. In many East Asian countries coconuts are used as natural healers, inside and out. The fresh water is meant to hydrate, the milk is meant to provide essential fats, and the oils do wonder for beauty! So it’s no surprise that industries have finally caught on to this, it was justContinue Reading >>

Shop wisely

8 October 2010, Comments: 1

With the growing awareness of food safety and health and the shrinking bank accounts from this somewhat stagnant economy, it’s important for the consumer to shop wisely. As a health conscious eater and shopper, I would love to purchase everything organic produce, however my wallet doesn’t quite support those desires.   Is this what you want your kids school lunch to look like? I attended a fundraiser for Project Lunch on Sunday and it provided inspiration for today’s post. Everywhere we look we see and hear something new related to healthy eating, it seems to be all over the media these days, and it’s about time! As attention continues to grow, more and more industries and organizations are being scrutinized for their food practices. The school lunch service industry is one that hits home to many. There is a huge discrepancy between what students should eat and what they DOContinue Reading >>

Seaweed Chips

14 September 2010, Comments: 1

Sooooo good, even kids like it. Featured in the picture above is Niko, who is happily enjoying Seaweed chips, a nutritious alternative to your traditional lays potato chips or Doritos. They can be found at Trader Joes and are low in sodium, carbs, and preservatives! Nutrition is more than just an individual lifestyle, of course it may start there but we do not live in a box. Most of our time is spent interacting with others at home and at work. Of all the social activities, eating is high on the popular list, it’s fun and yummy! Remember as youContinue Reading >>
