Dance on the edge of failure.
It’s easier to quit than to dance,
I know this firsthand. After months of being off my bike I got back on this Saturday for a 50 mile bike ride with 5 epic hills and 4,000 feet of climbing.
Yes, I wanted to quit. It was hot, I was tired and the hills were steep. But underneath it all I was scared. I was scared to fail. I was scared to admit I wasn’t as strong as I used to be.
And then I made a choice. I choose to keep on moving. And dance on the edge of failure. Maybe I would only make it half way up the hill but at least it would be halfway closer than if I quit.
And then something amazing happened.
I ended up finishing every mile.
When you step into the dance with failure and find safety in being uncomfortable,
you find your purpose. You find the strength to keep going.
I invite you to find that thing that scares you
and rather than step away from it
step towards it.
