Happy Friday peeps! I made it to day 4 of my Monthly Experiment to blog everyday. I can say this, it feels good to get this one thing done a day. I’ve studied a lot of what type of habits successful people adopt to become successful, one of which is as simple as make your bed daily … The rationale is that by completing that one simple task you start your day with a win, a ego boost if you will, and your brain releases those feel good hormones that you get when you cross the finish line (of anything). I already make my bed everyday and it’s become a bit automatic, I’m not even sure if my brain sensed it as a win anymore but publishing this blog post everyday certainly is igniting my brain’s reward system… and it feels delicious.
Back in 2009 when I started Nutritionize! and was blogging about paleo and zone there was a Friday theme called some variation of “Link Love’ where bloggers would link to blogs, books, people, and places they follow and want to send some love to. I absolutely loved doing this because let’s face it we are all teachers who are students of someone. It’s like that famous quote by Issac Newton “If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.” It is these words that turn the thought of “What I’m not” into “What I can become”.
I’m constantly training, learning, and growing. I think of growth in two ways: Experiential and Conceptual, in my opinion both are required. Conceptual comes from reading, attending trainings and seminars, and asking questions together these things plant seeds of possibility in the mind. Experiential growth comes from actually experimenting with the concepts you have learned and testing the results in the laboratory of YOU, this sprouts the conceptual seeds that serve you.
With that being said I’m happy to bring back Link Love and offer resources that have served me. I’m also selfishly doing this to start exploring more blogs and books again.
What shall I share?
This will take some time to build so I’ll start with books in my rotation and technology that I’m exploring
Currently reading these two books:
Shoe Dog by Phil Knight
Breaking the habit of being yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza
