Spring Clearing

25 March 2013, Comments: 0
The Spring Equinox of March 20th marked the first day of Spring (my favorite season) but I still find it hard to believe that it’s already March… 2013… When did that happen? Do you ever find yourself saying the infamous words “time flies”… I certainly do and it’s not always because I’m having fun. The reality is time is ALWAYS moving… FORWARD.
There have been moments these last few months where I wish I could turn back time and other moments I wish I had the super power to freeze time and revel a little while longer in the simple joys life had to offer,  unfortunately both powers are only found in movies.

The more we try to hold on to a moment in hope for everything to be the same the more we struggle.  When we relax and “go with the flow” our lives seem to have more ease. A lesson to be learned from the greatest teacher around us… Nature. Can you imagine if the trees went on strike from letting their leaves fall off?! We we would have no spring!

And without Spring we would have no rebirth, resurrection, regrowth. In ancient and modern day cultures around the world this turning of the season is celebrated. For me, Spring is a reminder that “the only thing that is constant is change”  marked by the blooming of cherry blossoms, one of my favorite trees. The transient flowers are delicate in nature but vividly alive and beautiful for but a brief moment before they fall off their trees and drift away in the winds until next Spring.

I’ve always been a fan of the seasons, it’s amazing to see how every creature around us knows exactly what to do and when in order to survive and thrive throughout the year. How? They listen to their surroundings. Can Humans thrive by living with the seasons?

I’m excited to adopt this level of mindfulness in my own life and share it with my tribe with two upcoming events!
– Spring On: How to eat, move, and meditate to thrive this Spring : April 7th 2-4pm
– 28 Day Virtual Guide To A Personalized Wellness Prescription (Spring Edition) : April 15th
I hope you join me in embracing Spring into your life and nourishing yourself with all the goodies this season has to offer! If you’re not sure how then stay tuned for the next few posts as we delve deeper into this seasons fruits and veggies.

Take Action

Take a moment to do some Mental Spring Cleaning by clearing out, cleaning up and deeply cleansing all that you’ve carried with you from the darkness of winter (Exhale it out). Welcome space, light, energy into your life (Inhale it in).

1. Breathe in a fresh breath of spring. Exhale old, stale energy.
2. Breathe in clarity. Exhale mental clutter.
3. Breathe in calm. Exhale emotional disarray.
4. Breathe in new possibilities. Exhale that which stands in the way of true love.

What are you going to transform, create, ignite this Spring?
