New Year’s Eve Karma Cleanse Party (Instructions included)

With the New Year just a day away it’s time to get serious about setting some goals for the year to come. I usually celebrate the ending of one year and the beginning of another by writing down all that I want to attain in the next year and then creating a vision board full of pictures and quotes which in some way are to send a message into the universe and bring all that I desire into my life. You might be thinking… “ah bullshit” or “how’s that worked out for you ritu” or maybe that’s what I’m thinking.Continue Reading >>

Monday Meditation: Grounded

Every morning I get out of bed and stand on my two feet and fold forward. Why? I have three reasons. First off to take a moment to lengthen my spine before running off for the day. Our backs literally take the brunt of work throughout the day from the minute we “sit up” in the morning to walking, exercising, sitting, standing, and finally lying down to sleep. I had the opportunity to spend time and learn from expert international yoga teacher and cyclist David Moreno. David was teaching a workshop titled “Yoga for Cyclists”, my two loves taught together, sign me up!  You might be wondering how the two even go together; yoga belongs on the mat and cycling on the Tour de France. On Saturday we spent equal amount of time in the sunlight and darkness and moving forward the Sun begins to rise later and the nightfall earlier, hence shorter days. Although we live in a day and age where we mostly avoid the affect of this seasonal shift by simply turning on lights and putting on our Ugg boots and coats, our primal bodies are deeply connected to the path of the Sun.ManyContinue Reading >>

Surviving The Tough Mudder

I have been racking my brain for the last couple of hours and lingering in major writers block trying to figure out the words to describe my experience from yesterday’s Tough Mudder event, and I’m at a loss. Not because there are no words to describe the event but because there are a million words and thoughts that come to mind: madness, crazy, awesome, emotional, holy crap, wow, smile, accomplishment, amazing, painful, scary, tough. I’ve had a few people ask how it went and simply saying it was amazing would be an understatement.  So I’ll do my best to describeContinue Reading >>
