Pop Up Meditation Lab (PML)

Meditation is an amazing secret weapon and everyone has the power to meditate. It DOESN’T require hours under a banyan tree. In fact it doesn’t require a yoga studio, or a retreat center either.

It only requires one thing: SHOWING UP.

The Pop Up Meditation Lab was born out of an effort to take meditation out of the studios and into the streets by partnering with local businesses to host community meditation sessions in spaces accessible by anyone and everyone. Our very first one was held in October 2014 in the streets of SF at Arrow Salon in the heart of the Mission. Other SF locations have included Lululemon, 111 Minna, Core Power Yoga, and Knolls.

Since our inception in 2014  Pop Up Meditation Lab has popped up around the world in Austin, London, Barcelona, Croatia, and of course online.

Why Meditate?

Our bodies are a laboratory, it’s time to experiment, listen, and learn. Meditation is a growing skill that has shown to optimize wellbeing through elevated happiness and alleviated stress. Read more about meditation here.

What you need to bring?

Yourself and something to sit on (yoga mat, meditation pillow, blanket). The beauty of meditation is that it can be done anywhere, anytime.

What is the format of Pop Up Meditation Lab?

PML sessions are typically 60 minutes starting with a brief introduction to meditation, benefits of, and how to meditate. Followed by a 30 minute meditation practice. Ending with share and reflect time. The sessions are welcoming to all levels, and locations are typically not quiet so we can learn to play with the noise of life.
