Tips for Making a Great Salad

One of the easiest ways to stay Zoleo when you’re eating out is to get a salad. Unfortunately salads are a BIG trap that causes people to fall of FAST due to intense hunger when they first start doing Zoleo. Salads are great because they’re fresh, and have lots of great stuff in them, and when you throw a piece of chicken or fish on top, you have a super healthy meal (although usually not balanced). However, most salad portions you can build or buy simply don’t have enough carbohydrate volume at a macronutrient level to provide what your bodyContinue Reading >>

Gingerly love

As a kid, whenever I came home with scrapes, cuts, and colds I remember having to wait in the kitchen to get medicine. Instead of opening up the medicine cabinet, my parents would open up the refrigerator and spice box and pull together some concoction that I either had to gulp down or was applied to my scraped up leg. Crossfit promotes constantly varied, what better way than to take our skills from the cell and apply them to the outdoors. We participated in the Big Kahuna Team Triathlon in Santa Cruz along with 1200 racers from all over. Our crossfit skills definitely transferred over not just in strength but also perseverance. Somewhere along doing a repetitive movement for a long period of time your mind begins to chime in here and there “I’m tired”,Continue Reading >>

Adrenal Fatigue – It’s playing a factor.

If you are living a modern-day lifestyle, you are probably experiencing Adrenal Fatigue to some degree. Although adrenal fatigue is not an acceptable medical diagnosis, it is widely recognized. Your adrenal glands produce a variety of hormones that are essential to life, and enable your body to deal with stress from every possible source, ranging from injury and disease to work and relationship problems. They are the core “fight or flight” response system of the human body, very useful for our caveman ancestors. However the daily stress, pressures, lack of sleep, caffeine and general busy lifestyle that most people experienceContinue Reading >>
