Monday Meditation

I spent all weekend at my cousin’s wedding dancing, singing, laughing, and eating (lots of eating). Indian weddings are week-long functions that consist of lots of family, lots of food and lots of fun. I had a great time but as an analyst and wellness coach I couldn’t help but observe, reflect, and analyze the how’s and why’s and what’s of the weekend. I watched everyone eat mindlessly, including myself, and sat around talking about the mindless munching. Food in the form of sugar, salt and dough put together in some combination and balled together or fried was served forContinue Reading >>

Monday Meditation: Keep on moving

This weekend brought my attention back to the idea of moving forward, one step at a time regardless of how slow the movement seems. If you continue to make decisions and move you will get where you want to go, it’s when you stop that the end seems forever far. In December I signed up for a bicycle event called the “Death Ride’, a Tour of the Tahoe Alps covering 129 miles and 15,000 feet of climbing. Why? Try Something New

Summer is finally in full force, and the living is easy! Do you notice in summertime how everything seems promising? The plants are in full bloom and the sun feels glorious on your skin. The longer days give you boundless energy, making you feel like it’s possible to achieve all your desires and dreams. Why not harness this energy, ride the wave of summer and try something new? Throughout the year we live at an intense pace (physical, emotional and mental), and we often get stuck in routine, either for the sake of efficiency or out of fear of unfamiliarContinue Reading >>

Part 1: Spring Cleansing

The clocks have changed, the days are getting longer, and suddenly you find yourself with an urge to clean out the closets and get organized, strange? Not the least bit. You’re mind and body are in tune with nature and the changes taking place all around you. Today marks the Spring Equinox also known as the first day of spring! It is a time of rebirth, and  renewal. Our primal instinct tells us to purge the stagnation from the Winter heaviness and get a little lighter and clearer. Our new age minds tell us to clear out the closets, packContinue Reading >>

Be Creative.

When it comes to nourishing our bodies and mind the first things we often focus on is physical activity and nutrtition, although these are pivotal in our wellbeing they tend to be attention hogs leaving no room to consider other more subtle areas which can play a big role as well. It’s kinda like the 80/20 rule – the key is to find and work on those 20% areas which bear 80% of the fruit. One of these 20% areas is “creativity”. Remember when you were a kid and sticking your hands in paint and making a masterpiece on the wallContinue Reading >>
