Holiday tips and tricks

The Halloween costumes are packed away, the candy wrappers are cleaned up and out of site, and the holiday season is officially in full effect.  Although it feels like you have gained 5-10 lbs. over the holidays, studies show that the average weight gain is only about a pound or two. Vegan. Vegetarian. Paleo.

‘Food is a drug, eat responsibly’. The end. Well, at least I wish it was that easy. The reality is it’s just the beginning. Paleo cheese?

Featured above is my go to power meal comprised of Kale, Quinoa, Wild Salmon, Miso Ginger dressing, and a sprinkle of Nutritional Yeast! The other day, I ate lunch at Gap Inc. headquarters in San Francisco. It happens to be on the top floor, and it’s beautiful. I was surprised to see their cafeteria serve grass-fed beef and poultry as well as EVERYTHING being organic. I default to the Cobb Salad, because in most cafeterias it’s the one dish that you’ll find with that’s gluten-free (minus the croutons), high in protein, no lectins, and actually fills you up! Paleo Fried Shrimp…It’s legit!

Way before I began the Paleo Journey, I’ve always been a fan of Fried Shrimp. I know, not the healthiest of foods, right? As I was looking for something to prepare, I know I wanted shrimp, but I wasn’t in the mood for Coconut Shrimp tonight. Instead I wanted Fried Shrimp. Is it possible to still make this healthier and Paleo? Of course you can! Luckily, I had some Almond Meal and Coconut Flour, and the rest was history. Delicious, filling, and quick. Give it up for… Almond Meal Shrimp Ingredients: – 1 pound of shrimp – 2 cage freeContinue Reading >>
